Embracing technology within Orthotics treatment

In 2020, Raj and the Stepthotix team used lockdown to explore how technology can help patients and the NHS, both of whom continue to suffer due to long waiting lists.

As a result, Stepthotix created a first-of-a-kind Digital Consultation for prescribing orthotic insoles for non-complex foot conditions from the comfort of a patient’s home.

Your Phone + Stepthotix Technology = Digital Consultation

Stepthotix has created a harmonious relationship between Patient, Orthotist and Technology by designing a Digital Consultation. The custom built webApp allows a patient to provide information our Orthotist will need to assess their feet and prescribe corrective insoles for non-complex foot conditions.

STEP 1

Foot Measurement

Open the App to check-in to your consultation. Take a picture of each foot on a piece of A4 paper - our technology will then calculate the exact measurements of your feet.

STEP 2

Sole Observation

Ask someone to take a photo of the bottom of each foot, so we can look for any patterns of hard skin and calluses showing potential signs of biomechanical abnormalities.

STEP 3

Dynamic Assessment

Ask someone to capture four short videos of you performing simple dynamic exercises (touch your toes, heel raises and walking) to help us assess your flexibility and movement.

STEP 4

Pain Questionnaire

Finally, complete a simple questionnaire telling us about any pain you feel and your activity levels. This will help us prescribe the best insoles for you.

After Submission

After 4 simple steps, patients will receive clinical notes and have their prescribed insoles delivered straight to their home in the post.

Immediate care

Avoid long hospital waiting lists for relatively straight forward foot problems.

Right first time

Use of an AI algorithm to accurately measure patient’s feet ensuring a perfect fit

Refer with confidence

Evidence based foot assessment allows for a corrective biomechanical prescription.
“This is brilliant for the majority of my patients who need just a little bit more support than an over-the-counter insole will give.”
Mike, Physiotherapist
"The clinical notes are easy to understand - they are broken down and explained with both patients and clinicians in mind."
Radhika, Podiatrist
